Take a series of photos (5 – 10) and caption them so that the story is clear from the captions only.
a. Take a series of photos. These can be of an event, or simply ‘a day in the life of’.
b. Caption each photo so that the detail of the moment is captured, and that together, they represent a story to a reader/viewer.
c. Essentially, this is a photo-essay but it is entirely reliant on the captions to build and tell the story.
d. Pay attention to technical detail in your captions.
e. You may use Flickr/Storify or any other platform to build your photo-essay, but you should then
link this to your blog
I wasn't entirely clear on what we had to do here. I did a little google-ing and decided to present my photo story in a two different ways. Let me know what you think in the comments? Which one is your favourite?

Notice that the captions with each image give a little extra information. For example, image one is a picture of a cup of tea, yet the caption states other words. The fact that I drink tea in the morning is explained in the image and therefore not required in the caption. I have shown, not told (Ames, 2014c).

Hi Victoria,
ReplyDeleteI like the second option because it gives a clear and professional picture about your morning life, the first option has a scrap booking style.
I hope this helps and I hope I'm not to rude with my comment.
Cheers,

Thanks Anna,
ReplyDeleteNo worries and thanks for the feedback. Kate said she liked the first option the best out of the two and I think it kind of grabs the attention of the viewer more than the second one does. But that is why I did two different ones. Testing things out and seeing what appeals.
