Quiz 7 – Punctuation

Technical: Complete Quiz 7 – Punctuation
a. Read Chapter 6 of Hicks, English for Journalists (Punctuation) to prepare for this quiz.
b. Complete the quiz so that you get 100% correct (you will be able to make numerous attempts).
c. Reflect on this briefly on your blog – Did you find the questions difficult? Did you have any problems in specific areas?

Just when you think you have it all figured out - you find out you don't.

A possessive, a contraction and distinguishing singular from plural are all instances where an apostrophe is used and that sounds simple enough.  Right? So why is it so difficult, to get it exactly right?

Who knows, one day Bill Gates might enhance Word so that it will correct every situation for us; until then though, I suppose I had better read some more and gain a firm grasp on it all.
