Interview with Lisa Clark from ABC Open

Interview two people and write their speech as a news report.

  • a. Interview two people you know about the topic “The things that are most important to me”.
  • b. Write a short news story (posted to your blog) based on these interviews (no more than 500 words).
  •  c. Then take a photo of each of your interviewees and post a photo of each to Twitter with a one sentence grab from the interview (eg. Tweet: Mum, Sally Doe, 48 – “You had all this hair, and your face was scrunched up.”) Link these Tweets to your blog and reflect on the activity generally.

I SNAPPED “TWO” – DID YOU?

 #abcopentwo #qldinstameet and #(your town)

Every Month, ABC Open unites Queensland photographers in an event aptly named “Snapped”.  Everyone can join.  All you need to do is open an Instagram account (if you don’t already have one), grab your smartphone and start Snapping.

In August the SNAPPED Event theme was “Two”.  All participants had to do was take pictures with their smart phones and publicly post them on Instagram with the tags #ABCOpenTwo and their current location #Rockhampton to be included in this state wide event .

ABC Open Producer, Lisa Clarke, gave the attendees’ of “Two” a personal experience by holding a scavenger hunt at the Fig Tree Markets in Yeppoon.  Each person was given a list of items to hunt down and SNAP.  This little challenge added a lot of fun and excitement to the day.

Challenge shot: Take a photo of two photographers, AND two people in hats.

A terrific group of photo enthusiasts joined together to share a laugh and have a good time.

Enthusiasts from all age groups came along and met other photographers.   In an interview with Lisa Clark, she said that everyone has a great time at these events and each monthly event is gathering more and more interest.

“Everyone loves coming along to these events because it’s not only a way they can challenge themselves photographically and learn some new digital skills, but they can also socialise and meet new people who also love taking photos,” she said.

If you would like to come along to the next SNAPPED event, simply jump on the ABC OPEN website, click on EVENTS and then filter to your state.  Hope to see you at the next one!
